Permanent tsb

permanent tsb is the retail banking division of Irish Life & Permanent plc. Irish Life & Permanent plc was formed by the merger of Irish Permanent plc and Irish Life plc in April 1999. This merger brought together the combined strengths of Ireland's largest home loans provider and the country's largest insurance company.

The Challenge

permanent tsb wanted to understand fully the relationships it had with its existing customers. Part of this understanding was the identification of all products currently and previously owned by its customers, including the legacy data of the merged entities, Irish Permanent and TSB Bank. But the customer data was plagued with duplications and inconsistent undefined fields, making the task almost impossible.

The Solution

In all, Datactics performed analysis and matching on more than 3.5 million customer records with more than 7 million accounts. Data was cleaned, deduplicated and standardized. This enabled permanent tsb to access accurate data.

The Benefits

Business strategy became more targeted based on accurate customer data. Profiling is now more effective enabling the bank to identify high net-worth customers. They can now maximize up-selling and cross-selling opportunities.

“...Datactics technology has given us full control and confidence in our matching rules and we were able to get up and running and see results for the entire data set – not just samples – in a much shorter time than we could have expected from some of the much more expensive alternatives we considered.”
